Dance divination is the practice of receiving and interpreting supernatural messages, information, or insight while observing or engaging in channeled movement or divinely inspired dance.
This practice can help you to:
- Strengthen your intuition and awaken your psychic senses
- Cultivate a deeper connection with the world of Spirit
- Receive, embody, and integrate healing messages for yourself and others
This workshop is designed to help you understand and decipher the language of movement as communicated to us through our physical bodies. Students will learn about the vast landscape of movement qualities, dynamics, shapes, and the energy those things convey. We will discuss processes and practices that will help our bodies to become a vessel for channeling Spirit as well as our own intuitive wisdom. We will also explore the intersection between movement and psychic senses and how to employ dance as a tool for psychic activation. The workshop will conclude with Carla offering each student a personalized channeled movement transmission.
Length: 2.5 hours (approx.)
Workshop Content & Requirements: This workshop is mostly lectures and labs providing opportunities for observing and analyzing a wide array of dance and movement styles. Therefore, you do not need any dance experience to participate, and any dance or movement activities offered will be optional. Observing this dance practice is just as powerful as the execution of it!
Please wear comfy clothes you can move easily in (if you choose to participate in that way) and bring a journal and pen.

WORKSHOP: ELEMENTAL DANCE MAGICK
Each of the elements has a unique energy signature that can be expressed with our whole being. In this workshop, students will learn how to connect with earth, fire, air, and water and embody their signature qualities with a variety of creative movement explorations. We will also learn 4 short choreographed phrases to help engage and express the spirit of each element.
Students will also explore a connection with Spirit, the fifth element, through a brief introduction to sacred dance practices and activation exercises. During our time together we will learn how to flow with the rhythm of Spirit both individually and collectively.
Length: 3 hours
Content & Requirements: This workshop is non-stop dancing - bring water and be ready to move! No prior dance experience is needed. All movement exercises are easy to follow and adaptable to fit the needs and restrictions of anyBODY. Please bring a scarf to dance with if you have one - I will have a few to share.
WORKSHOP: JOURNEYDANCE
As a JourneyDance guide, I am passionate about utilizing dance as a tool for mental and emotional well-being. Our emotions can get stuck inside of us and sometimes the only way forward is to feel them and literally move them out of our bodies. Movement is a powerful and potent medicine. This class provides an opportunity to practice somatic alchemy by awakening to our soul’s truth and engaging in creative expression. For me, learning to move from my heart center and deepen my connection with my physical body set me on a path of radical transformation to be able to overcome a seemingly insurmountable amount of difficulties. It is an honor for me to have the opportunity to lead people through a journey of self-discovery and self-healing.

Contents & Requirements: All dancing - no prior dance experience needed!
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Any of the above workshops can be combined and/or tailored to suit your program or community needs. Participants do not need any dance training or experience to attend my events. The movement portion of these workshops is designed to be accessible to all bodies. However, if you would like to book a workshop for your dance community, I would be happy to customize an event that includes modern dance techniques and spiritually inspired contemporary choreography. Simply include that request in the form submission.
Shamanic Dance Initiation Course (Coming Fall 2024)
This course offers an in-depth and immersive learning experience on how to use dance as a tool for shamanic healing. Students will learn all about the process of offering channeled movement transmissions for others and actively engage in what they’ve learned through weekly labs. Channeled movement is a serious and sacred practice that takes time and dedication to develop. Participation in all six classes is required for course completion. We will also discuss guidelines and best practices for holding sacred space and facilitating dance rituals.
Length: Six 90-minute classes (held once a week)
Pre-requisite: must have completed both the dance divination and elemental dance magick workshops prior to enrolling.
